Getting to Valencia

By Air

Valencia Airport (VLC) is well-connected to major European cities with direct flights from London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rome, and many more. Budget airlines Ryanair, easyJet, and Vueling offer frequent services. The airport is 8 km from the city center, connected by metro (Line 3 & 5) in about 25 minutes to the center (€4.90 one-way). Taxis cost €20–25.

By Train

Spain's high-speed AVE train connects Valencia to Madrid in under 2 hours and Barcelona in around 3 hours. The main station is Estación del Norte (Joaquín Sorolla for AVE), located in the city center. Book via Renfe (renfe.com) — early booking gets the best prices.

By Bus

FlixBus and ALSA operate regular services from major Spanish and European cities. The main bus station (Estación de Autobuses) is well-connected to the city center by metro.

Getting Around During Fallas

  • Walking: The best way! Most Fallas events are concentrated in the walkable historic center.
  • Metro: Valencia's metro is efficient, clean, and runs frequently. Lines 3 and 5 connect the airport to the center. A 10-trip ticket (bonometro) offers good value.
  • Bus (EMT): Extensive bus network. During Fallas, some routes are diverted due to street closures.
  • Valenbisi: Valencia's public bike-share system. Great for exploring neighborhoods between events.
  • Taxi/Uber: Available but expect longer wait times and some roads closed during peak Fallas hours.
Important: Street Closures

During Fallas — especially March 15–19 — many streets in the center are closed to traffic. Fallas monuments are placed at intersections, blocking vehicle access. Plan to walk or use metro. Driving in the center during Fallas week is practically impossible and not recommended.

Por Avión

El Aeropuerto de Valencia (VLC) está bien conectado con las principales ciudades europeas con vuelos directos desde Londres, París, Berlín, Ámsterdam, Roma y muchas más. Aerolíneas low-cost como Ryanair, easyJet y Vueling ofrecen servicios frecuentes. El aeropuerto está a 8 km del centro, conectado por metro (Líneas 3 y 5) en unos 25 minutos (4,90€).

Por Tren

El tren de alta velocidad AVE conecta Valencia con Madrid en menos de 2 horas y Barcelona en unas 3 horas. La estación principal es la Estación del Norte (Joaquín Sorolla para AVE). Reserva en Renfe — cuanto antes, mejores precios.

Moverse Durante Fallas

  • A pie: ¡La mejor opción! La mayoría de eventos se concentran en el centro histórico caminable.
  • Metro: Eficiente, limpio y frecuente. Un bonometro de 10 viajes ofrece buena relación calidad-precio.
  • Autobús (EMT): Red extensa. Durante Fallas, algunas rutas se desvían por cortes de calles.
  • Valenbisi: Sistema público de bicicletas compartidas. Ideal para explorar barrios entre eventos.
Importante: Cortes de Calles

Durante Fallas — especialmente del 15 al 19 de marzo — muchas calles del centro están cortadas al tráfico. Los monumentos se colocan en las intersecciones. Planifica caminar o usar el metro. Conducir por el centro durante la semana de Fallas es prácticamente imposible.

Wichtig: Straßensperrungen

Während der Fallas — besonders vom 15. bis 19. März — sind viele Straßen im Zentrum für den Verkehr gesperrt. Fallas-Monumente werden an Kreuzungen platziert und blockieren den Fahrzeugverkehr. Planen Sie zu Fuß zu gehen oder die Metro zu benutzen. Fahren im Zentrum während der Fallas-Woche ist praktisch unmöglich und nicht empfohlen.
